In 2005 I lived in Poland for about half a year, teaching English and enjoying the city of Krakow. I visited in 2003 and loved the city so much, I was determined to return. I found an affordable apartment, and made it my own.
My parents and grandma Dorothy even came to visit for Christmas!
Krakow had the largest medieval town square in all of Europe and was the city’s cultural center.
The beautiful Mariacki church was the crowning glory of the square.
earned my CELTA certificate (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) provided by the Cambridge English Teaching Qualification center in Krakow. Schooling was many days in the classroom and teaching in front of classes.
I lived near Kazimierz, the Jewish Ghetto, and would often walk through this part of town, even taking a tour of the locations featured in Schindler’s List.
When Pope Saint John Paul II died, the whole country was in morning. Even more so in Krakow, where he was from.
