The Morning Riot

The Morning Riot was the band I played bass for in the 2000s.  We put out our first album independently before signing to a record label and putting out our second full length studio album.  After that, things started to go south and the band broke up shortly after I left and a third album was produced.

We actually won the 2006 LA Music awards “Punk Album of the Year.

One of our songs was featured in a Tony Hawk video game, another was on a Warp Tour CD, and we received some  local radio airtime.  We were able to play some incredible local San Diego gigs as well as at The House of Blues and the Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood.  Other than that, we never made it big, with most of the money we made going back into buying more musical instruments and louder amps.

The Morning Riot “Self-Titled” and The Morning Riot “No Escape” were the two albums I played on.

If you are interested in hearing any of the music, send me a message, I still have all the albums.

Here’s one of my favorite interviews with some band footage:

We used to practice in the back room of a Cardiff-by-the-Sea barbershop.  Thanks Emilio!
