Hello All,
I’ve been in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for about a month now… I’ll be down here for another month, back to Cali in July, then off to China for the Olympics in August. Buenos Aires is known as the ‘Paris of the South’, it is the most European of South American cities. It is famous for his heavenly beef, the birthplace of the tango, and it’s up and coming wines. But in someone else’s words…
“…Buenos Aires is not all about football and tango. Currently the toast of South America, Argentina’s capital has seen unprecedented growth and development since the economic crash of 2002. Urban renewal has led to the gentrification of the city’s seedier barrios transforming artisan’s workshops into cutting-edge restaurants, chic shops and the hippest of hotels. Buenos Aires is stylish, the streets of Palermo Viejo, the city’s hippest barrio, are littered with cutting edge Argentine fashion and design led restaurants/bars. Beyond the look, locals possess almost unfathomable levels of stamina and are often to be found partying into the morning sunlight on a weekday night.”
To me, it’s a cross between Paris and Tijuana. Example:
Or the sink next door:
The interesting architecture makes it a joy to wander the city…
Beautiful statues everywhere…
Be glam?
Where’s the beef?
Empanadas everywhere!
Fun locals…
Dancing in the streets…
Lots of street art…
Just an update…
Take care,
Christian!
