While spending time in Dubai, I made a quick trip to the neighboring country of Oman. Oman is the oldest continuously independent country in the Arab world and is an exporter of frankincense and myrrh.
We set sail to explore the Arabian Peninsula near the Strait of Hormuz aboard a traditional Dhow boat.

The arid desert area provides some interesting landscapes.

It is a unique and desolate beauty.

This art was years in the making…

I was thankful to have this opportunity to see a small bit of a country not many have a chance to visit.
